John Bryan State Park / Clifton Gorge Hike

Last weekend we went for a hike at John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Beautiful day for a hike. We packed a lunch, ate by a quiet watering hole, and saw some cool sights. The big rocky cliffs were fun to see, and Jackson and Daddy spent a lot of time pretending there were "pirates about to attack from the cliffs above" while Ella rode in the pack and Mommy helped Liam over the rocky terrain. He went down about 5 or 6 times, scraped both knees and both elbows, and cried all but one time. He was very proud of himself the one time he held back the tears. Oh well. He's going to be a tough kid for all of the falls he's taken in his lifetime! And, of course we made it down to the creek to throw some rocks, a favorite boy pastime.

On the way out of town we stopped by Young's Jersey Dairy for a tractor ride, some ice cream, and to watch some kids in a batting cage. Ella was ready to go in, but we decided she should grow a little bit more first. This was a fun stopping place for all kinds of farm fun and otherwise.

Colin, I wasn't aware of the magical escapades that the Manly family are involved in. Can I be an honorary member of the family? I consider myself a little bit of an outdoors man. I have an awesome cargo vest. Just consider it.
