Sammy's Visit and Jackson's 6th Birthday

Sammy's visit started off with a bang. She arrived just in time to be a part of Jackson's science-themed 6-year birthday party. He invited a slew of scientists to our house to do some (somewhat) safe experiments. First, the boys tested the flight of their paper helicopters in a wind tunnel. Next they hammered open their geodes to find crystals inside (with Colin's help, of course). Colin's toes nearly got hit as the boys missed their rocks.

Lego time! These were a big hit this year.

Colin and his mom got to hit the ball around a bit one beautiful afternoon.
After golf, we all headed to a local restaurant to have a birthday dinner for Jackson on his actual birthday. We sat in an old train car, which was really cool.

Jackson requested lemon cake for dessert afterwards.

 A little fall fun.

And a trip downtown to walk along the river and over the bridge tops off the fun trip.

Sammy got to witness the routine for getting Jackson on and off the bus. First, wear your super hero gear.
 Second, get scooting.
 Third, strike a pose.
 Last, the bus.
Thanks for a great visit, Sammy!
