It was an eventful afternoon here at the Manly household. I was at the grocery store and the kids were sleeping when Colin felt a big explosion ripple though the neighborhood. Now we often hear big bangs because we live across the street from a fireworks company and they test fireworks all of the time. But Colin said this one was pretty big. As it turns out, there was an accident and two firetrucks and numerous police cars showed up in front of our house. They had to access our firehydrants and run the hoses behind our neighbor's house across the street to get to the place.
The two firetrucks.

The crane across the street.

Here's Jackson's version of the event:
Mommy and daddy woke me up from my nap at 4:45pm to show me the firetrucks outside.
I see them! I see them!

Look at my brilliant smile! I can't believe there are two firetrucks at my house!

I met a
real fireman. He gave me a hat and...

he let me drive the firetruck! He said I could come down to the station whenever I wanted to sit in all of the trucks.

Wake up Liam! Come out to see the firetrucks with me!

Here's a video of my first ride in a firetruck.

Lesson #1: Never buy a house near a fireworks factory!
Also...you don't see green fire engines too often!
Halloween was a good prep for this event
