my wife is a girl

My wife is a girl. This isn't a bad thing. But it does mean there are things we see differently. And it does mean that there are things that come up from her tender heart out of her mouth sincerely that I find amusing. This bit of conversation is from a while ago immediately following the conclusion of Bourne Ultimatum.

For those of you that don't know, it's the story of US government-sponsored assassin Jason Bourne, who has amnesia about his true identity. So the film is grounded in him trying to puzzle back together who/what he is. It is rated R. Now I'm sure it's not a stretch for you to believe that there is no small amount of death and destruction. Bourne is like James Bond, but better. He doesn't have lots of tricky gadgets, he has guns and fists.

It is not a comedy. It is not a drama. It's action, and often intense. It is a trilogy, so three movies. We aren't able to fit all the running and crashing and shooting and blowing up into one movie or even two. Three, we need three. Are you feeling me on the nature of this story? Good.

For backdrop on the highlighted conversation below, there is a girl (Julie Stiles) that resurfaces throughout the three movies. As the puzzle is put back together we learn that there was something between these two. We don't really know what, mainly because the movie can't slow down enough to explain it. She probably has a total of 20 minutes on screen spread out over six hours of three movies.

Well films these days always wrap up fairly neatly when it comes to the POINT OF THE MOVIE. The girl guy thing was not even in the top ten points of the movie.

So this is the part where my wife is a girl. And this was my favorite part of the movie experience.

Wife: Is there gonna be another one?
Me: No. It's over.
Wife: I want him to find his family and marry Julia Stiles. What happened to that?

Classic.
