One of us is always behind him on his descent just in case he snags a toenail or something, but he really doesn't need us there. Colin always says that Jackson slides down so fast that Colin can't walk down the stairs backwards fast enough!
As for the new words in the boy's vocabulary, he has picked up a few that are important parts of his day. For example, he says "mama" if he wants a person's attention (it doesn't matter which one of us it is) and then will say "up" if he wants to see what you're up to in the big people world. Then he will point to where he wants us to take him. Sometimes it's to the "am-ah", or hammer, or to the bowl of "ap.............ple", which is a very elongated form of "apple". We've had some snow recently, so he knows to point out the "no" when we're outside. He will also notice the "boon" in the sky whether it's full or merely a waning crescent. Genius.

Jackson sliding down the stairs like that might be one of the funniest things I've ever seen!
