We had a full day today. It was one of those days you look back upon tired, but fulfilled. This morning we did a lot of playing inside, since it was chilly out. Then at 11am we headed out to a local farm, Shaw Farms, for a little fall fun. When we got there, Jackson couldn't get enough of it. There were a bazillion pumpkins, which of course, he loves. Then there was a whole field of character cutouts, themed plywood scenes where you could put your head through the face holes or windows. There were Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Three Little Pigs scenes and a bunch more. He ran from character to character, barely pausing to take a breath. Then we had lunch and watched a dump truck dump gravel on a pathway nearby. Oh boy! His favorite entertainment is anything involving trucks.
Last, we jumped on a hay ride through the farm and adjoining woods. Liam loves the outdoors and was content the entire trip, taking it all in. He nearly fell asleep on the ride. Jackson was wide eyed. Afterward, we took pictures of the tractors and plopped Jackson on one of them. It was a blast. Tonight after naps and dinner, we read books and played matching games with Jackson boy as Liam snoozed. A day to remember. Simple but perfect.
