A couple of weekends ago we took the kids to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton to see the National Museum of the USAF. There were several hangars of planes to see, and I think we only made it to 4 of the 8 galleries in our 2 hours...lots of walking for little legs! But they did great and really enjoyed the "bombs" they saw as well as the different paintings on the outside of the planes. I think it was a little much for them to take in, but well worth the free admission. Colin and I could have spent several more hours reading about the amazing histories of the aircraft and the stories of the people who flew them. Here are some of the highlights...

Cool jet!

"Those planes are enormous!"
Also, Ella makes an appearance in the pictures (well, kind of!)

We also took a quick drive down the road to where the Wright brothers perfected their flying techniques and their airplane at the nation's first "airport" of sorts...just a field but pretty cool none the less. Also sight of the first permanent flight school.

Your Easter Day looks like wonderful fun. Reminds me of Manly's many hikes in NC mtns. Wright-Pat looks like a great field trip too.
love you all, Sammy
